About Your First Visit
When you arrive we will ask you to fill out a form with your personal details - including your medical history. You can download this form on this page (in PDF or Word format) to fill in at home if you prefer - otherwise a copy will be given to you on arrival. Please see the Contact Us page for our location map. Parking is provided adjacent to Chemist Warehouse - just walk around the front left corner of the building - our reception entrance faces onto Hampstead Rd. We will call to check if you have any questions about your appointment 48 hours prior. Other people may be on a waiting list to see a dentist, so we ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your appointment.
We pride ourselves on seeing patients at their scheduled appointment time, and so that we can provide you the best treatment, and carry out all the work scheduled for an appointment, we expect you to arrive 5 -10 minutes before the appointment time we give you.
As a new patient with us, why not print out the Patient Information Form (available in a PDF format on this page) so you can fill it out in the comfort of home, and bring it with you. If you are arriving for your first appointment without the form pre-filled, please arrive 10 mins before your appointment time to allow you time to complete the forms.
If you are early, and you would like a coffee (espresso, latte or cappuccino - and even decaf), a hot chocolate or cup of tea before or after seeing the dentist, let our friendly staff know. If your "driver" or companion wishes to join you in the treatment room, we are happy to oblige - however they can also choose to relax with a coffee and the latest magazines in the patient lounge - just ask us.
Our magazines are fresh and vibrant, and so interesting that you will want to steal them. We guarantee there are no 3 month (or 3 year old) copies of New Idea to be found here..... just exciting, interesting magazines that will fill those couple of minutes before your appointment.
Select your preferred music to play during your treatment - if you have your iPod with you, we can pop on your own favourite tunes for you. Otherwise just let us know your preference in music when you arrive for your appointment and we will arrange for the chairside assistants to have the relevant CD's at hand.
The dentist or hygienist will go over your medical history. You will then receive a complete examination of your teeth, gums and oral tissues. We have a Digital Xray to take instant images of any areas that need investigation (without the usual waiting, or need for harmful chemicals). We also have an intra-oral camera, which can display the images of your teeth on a screen in front of you, to help you understand the issues the dentist will discuss with you. While our dentist is a very good communicator, do feel free to ask anything that comes to mind so that you are at ease about your suggested treatment plan. We do have a visitors chair for 1 person to accompany you. We do ask that you arrange someone to look after kids, or have them spend their time at our Playstation corner in reception, so that our dentist can give you his full attention.
The latest technology we use ensure that the visit to the dentist will be as gentle as possible.
After your treatment, you can freshen up at our "Refresh Station", before seeing our friendly team in reception to finalise your account. We accept cash, Eftpos or Credit Card on an appointment by appointment basis. Visa, Mastercard and Amex are accepted. Payment is always due at the time of provision of the service, and we expect you to settle in full at the conclusion of your appointment with us. Personal cheques or Bank cheques are available by prior arrangement only.
Our reception team or Treatment Coordinator can assist with finance options and insurance options for major treatment. This can be arranging suitable instalments, or with CareCredit.
We are preferred providers with HBA (Members First), MBF (MemberCare), HCF (Oral Care Partner), Australian Unity (Dentacare), Noble Dentist and many others. We are also a Members Choice provider with Medibank Private. With these funds you get full advantage of the lower contracted fees that their members enjoy, as well as a higher percentage back. All other health funds we can simply swipe your card so you can claim your available rebate based on your membership level, and you only need to pay the gap (if any).
For larger treatment plans, Care Credit is available. Offered by GE Money, Care Credit offers a variety of plans - from Interest Free (up to 12 months) or a longer term payment option (up to 3 years, at 12.9% interest currently). We can assist with the application process if you are interested in utilising this service. You can check the various options available, and see how much your repayments would be, online at www.carecredit.com.au/estimate.htm
We aim to have our dentists ready to see you at your appointment time - and barring unforseen circumstances this is usually the case. To make your visit with us (and that of other patients after you), we ask that our patients arrive 5 - 10 mins before the appointment time given, and give us at least 24 hours notice should you fall ill. Please also understand that as our doctors are popular, it may be several weeks until we can re-schedule an appointment. While we will do our best to accommodate your schedule and work commitments, we do need to carry out certain procedures at specific times of the day (for example where impressions for intricate technical work need to be taken by courier to the technician, and cannot sit overnight).
If getting away from work is an issue for you, remember that we can arrange a certificate of attendance (sick certificate) for your work for dental appointments on request.
